Beginning an IB Program - Helping students with no art experience
Apr 14 2011, 9:42 PM EDT
I wanted to start an IB certificate program at my school. But the administration also wants to add the regular IB students. How do you get them ready in one year when they have no art experience?
Do you find this valuable?

How much support do you have from admin with these students? I'm assuming from your question that you will require them to take a pre-IB course? Lots of drawing, exposure to artists, and idea generation work is my best suggestion. I would definitely keep these students in standard level. Although, they might be OK as IB is proposing drastic changes to their visual arts program (not good ones in my opinion) so maybe they will be OK. I don't envy you though :)
