My Focus
Mar 3 2011, 5:38 PM EST
I'm an art student in my first year of the IB program, and I'm having some problems with my focus. Its not that I can't think of projects to work on. Its not that I'm lacking in technical skills, because I've had years of experience. Its more that I can't find my focus. I have had some ideas, but my teacher says that they lack depth and that it seems like I've already thought them trough to their extremities. He says that there isn't much for me to explore in them . However it seems that these are the things I'm interested in. For reference my current idea for a focus is Character development in stressful situations, and I'm planning to do most of my work in a digital comic style format. Do you find this valuable?

Have you looked at the "all about themes" page? I guess I would ask what you want to communicate about "character development in stressful situations"? Why is this something you are focusing on and how does it relate to you? It's hard to respond without more info but I would tell you that it 's good to have a thread through your work where one idea leads to the next and there is a concept you are trying to communicate.
